Welcome To My Lao Kitchen
Welcome To My Lao Kitchen
Where every bite tells a story.
Sabaidee and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. This blog is a celebration of Lao food—the flavors I grew up with, the meals that bring us together, and the recipes passed down from kitchen to kitchen with love (and a lot of chili).
Lao food is bold, earthy, spicy, sour, and deeply comforting. It’s grilled meats and sticky rice eaten with your hands, it’s the funk of fermented fish sauce (padek) that only true Lao souls can love, and it’s the balance of fresh herbs and rich flavors in every dish.
Here, you’ll find traditional recipes like larb, tam mak hoong, and or lam, along with stories from my kitchen, tips for cooking Lao food at home, and maybe a few modern twists on old favorites. Whether you’re Lao and missing home, or brand new to the cuisine and curious, you’re welcome at my table.
This blog is about more than food—it’s about culture, family, memory, and love. Let’s eat, learn, and connect.
Khop jai lai lai, and happy cooking!
